Life Drawing Sessions
Drawing from life, specifically the nude model, offers artists a concise way to practice and improve their skills, no matter what their goals are. The unique set of problems involved in such an endeavour allows him or her to approach and solve the myriad challenges involved in drawing and painting from life. As such, for all artists, the life class is invaluable.
Course Description
This course offers a regular, constant life drawing sessions available to all artists - from beginners to seasoned professionals - who are looking to keep their skills sharp.
The sessions begin with a few shorter poses for quick, gestural studies and to warm up, and culminate in one or two longer poses where more finished drawings can be executed. There is a short break between the long poses – often full of lively conversation – where tea and coffee is provided. Anyone interested in life drawing is invited to come along and join our friendly group, and work in any medium toward whatever goals you wish!

Suggested Materials
- Small sketch book with pencils for any studies you may wish to make.
- A good selection of various sized sticks of charcoal.
- A few pencils, 2b being the most popular hardness.
- A couple of sheets of good quality large paper. (e.g. Canson, Murano etc)
- A large putty rubber.
- A long thin stick for measuring. (e.g. a knitting needle or a long handled brush)
- Masking tape and/or large bulldog clips.
- Anything else you like if you are working in your own choice of medium!
Paper is available to purchase on the night, if required. Easels, boards, seating and refreshments are provided.
Booking
There is no need to book, if you would like to attend the life drawing session, just turn up on a Thursday night, come up to the studio and join us!
