About Alchemy Art Studio - Lincoln
Set up at the start of 2009, and situated right in the centre of Lincoln - Alchemy Art Studio offers some 800 square feet of fantastically lit space, providing the perfect environment for drawing and painting from life.
It offers a good insight into the life of a working studio, as it is used full time by Greg Kapka for his own work, as well as his teaching.
The studio is easily found on Silver Street. It is opposite “The Works” book shop, and sandwiched between “Toni & Guy” and “William Hill”. Its entrance is the small black door arrowed in the photograph below. It leads down a short alley way, to a glazed door on the left hand side. Enter this and – after marvelling at the fantastic 1930’s lift – climb up to the top floor. The doors will be unlocked 15 minutes before any life drawing, or weekend workshop sessions, so just come on in!
Parking is free anywhere along Silver Street and its neighbouring roads after 6 o’clock. For weekend workshops, car parks are liberally sprinkled around the city centre, with the closest being the Broadgate Multi-storey, which is near the bus station, close to the Central library, and about a 5 minute walk from the studio.
